Sketching in Champaner, Gujarat

During the December holidays, we took a road trip to Gujarat (a state in western India). We drove at a leisurely pace from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, stopping at points of interest along the way. One stop was Champaner, a UNESCO world heritage site. Champaner was once a glittering, magnificent capital city. Today, only a small village and scattered ruins remain.
Our sketches of a mosque from the inner courtyard.

We also sketched an open pavilion adorned with intricate patterns (which, unfortunately, cannot be seen very much in the sketches).

  1. Beautiful- the mosque ones, especially. Now how about joining Urban Sketchers on flickr???

  2. You are doing good work. In fact, few people do this type of art work which has more aesthetics than photography.
