Sketching in Padel, Maharashtra

Mohini: My grandparents own a mango orchard in southern Maharashtra, on India’s west coast. The ground there is composed of a rock called laterite, which is very red. Every time a mango tree is planted, a hole needs to be blasted into the rock, since there is virtually no soil on top in which the tree can grow. This is a sketch of the thatched roof under which our car is parked.
